An Introduction to Perception
The objects we see every day is perceived differently by different individuals. It is the same even in a workplace setup. Throughout the day, every person has to process countless stimuli pertaining to smell, touch, and so on. We are at liberty to interpret these stimuli subjectively. Therefore, it is quite natural for people to have different interpretations regarding the same stimulus.
We also know that perception drawn from the stimuli is the predictor of our behaviour. Making incorrect interpretations due to biases could have a significant impact on the growth and efficiency of an organisation. In order to work as a synchronised whole, every individual working in a company must be aware of the perceptual process to avoid errors in perception.
Taking up a short course in perception could be very helpful in educating managers about the importance of perception in everyday work life and using it to their advantage. In this course, you will get to learn about the sub-processes involved in perception and how loopholes could result in perceptual biases.
